Bramber Castle Entrance
England

Bramber castle was built in 1073 as a defence on the river Adur that runs under its East side.  It is based on the standard motte and bailey layout with a grand sized entrance tower that still stands in part to its full height.  The site is a wonderful picnic area, although younger children need to be kept an eye on due to the steep ramparts to the site.
