Cennet Heaven Sinkhole Silifke Vr Mersin 5cb
Turkey
It is located 25 km to the east of Silifke District, Mersin. It is one of the two wonders of nature that consist of large and deep sinkholes, which were called “Korykos Cave” in the antiquity. There is a small church at the entrance of the cave. We first go up northwards on 455 stairs that were randomly carved on the natural rocks, and turn to south and reach the church at the 300th step. The epitaph found on the entrance door indicates that the church was built by a religious man called Paulus in the name of Mary in the 5th century. Going down the church, we arrive at the end of the cave. The underground water that used to flow either from outside or inside can barely be heard at present.
