The Collegiate Church of San Pedro de Cervatos is located in the village of Cervatos in the municipality of Campoo Enmedio (Cantabria).
It is a National Monument since 1931.
This Romanesque style church can be dated by means of two inscriptions found in the facade.
The first one of 1129 is thought to be the date of construction.
The second, better preserved, mentions 1199 as the year of its consecration by Bishop and of this time could also be the construction of the tower.
The church has one nave and its entrance is on the south side by a cover with six archivolts where highlights a tympanum decorated with plant motifs.
At the foot and misaligned with respect to the nave is the bell tower which consists of three parts, a first blind and the other two with arches, which suggest different stages of construction.
In the Collegiate Cervatos is remarkable the collection of well preserved corbels which abound in erotic scenes that have attracted attention and caused discussion on the reasons for their presence in a church.
