College Anchieta - Nova Friburgo RJ

Founded by Jesuit priests and brothers coming from Italy on April 12, 1886, he began to work in the big house of an old farmhouse Hill Burnt, called "Château" (castle in French) by Swiss settlers.

On 1 January 1901, with the increased number of students, began the construction of large current building Anchieta College, which lasted eight years. Soon became famous and known in Brazil for the excellent education they gave their students.

All teachers were Jesuits; But in 1922, with the decrease coming priests of Italy, the boarding school turned into seminary to form Brazilian Jesuits. Soon, the college was full of seminarians who studied from the minor seminary - called Apostolic School - to the Faculty of Philosophy.
