The Beach of Aiguades named for its proximity to an abundant source which supplied fresh water to passing vessels as evidenced by a landing stage now serving as a diving board. This pebble beach, not far from the town, is popular with holidaymakers for its source and shady places. In January 1510, Pedro Navarro, head of the African expedition, landed here with a troop of five thousand men and took the city.
