Baden-Wuerttemberg

Panorama of the Catholic Church St John and the Danube Source in Donaueschingen, Germany. The church Saint John which was built in bohemian baroque style from 1724 to 1747 after plans of architect Franz Maximilian Kanka.

The supposed source of the Danube is a karst spring of the creek Donaubach enclosed in a stone basin. Donaubach flows after a few hundred metres into the river Brigach which forms at its confluence with the river Breg the second longest river in Europe the Danube.
