The Dunguaire Castle is a 16th century tower house built  near town of Kinvarra in the Galway Bay by Hynes Clan in 1520 and changed of owners during the centuries. In early 20th century the castle was purchased by the poet Oliver Saint John Gogarty who restored and created a meet place. Later the castle was acquired by Shannon Development to be one more monument and historic touristic attraction. In Summer season the Dunguaire Castle is open to the public for a medieval banquet with costumed performance of Irish traditional music and food.
