Estuary of the Cávado River. On the North Coast in the estuaries there are predominantly species adapted to salt, due to the salt marsh and salt zones and because they are close to the sea. We therefore have:

Salty meadows and scrub are the habitats that occur in greater abundance, especially in the Cávado River, where species such as reeds (Juncus acutus) and Armenia (Armeria maritime) appear.
