Located by the Fongshan River near the Military Academy in the Fongshan District, Fongshan Park No. 28 has a total area of 2.1 hectares. The park was originally a parking site for vehicles impounded by the Kaohsiung police for traffic violations or other misdemeanors. Local residents proposed that the site be converted into a park and the construction officially began January 2012. Now Fongshan Park No. 28 has become the first park built after Kaohsiung City and Kaohsiung County merged to become into Great Kaohsiung City. Fongshan Park faces the Eight Immortals Park, the Fengxiang Park and the green area on the other side of Fongshan River. Together they provide Fongshan River with an environmental space on both sides and a place where local residents could exercise and engage in other leisure activities.
