Glasgow Necropolis
Scotland

The Glasgow Necropolis sits upon a hill behind and above Glasgow Cathedral (or the High Kirk of Glasgow). Originally part of the Wester Craigs estate, the land was bought by the Merchants of the City and became Fir Park with the monument to John Knox (the tallest monument) being built around 1825. Opening as an all denominational cemetery for the wealth city merchants in 1833.
