Glenfinnan Monument , Scotland
Scotland

Standing at the head of Loch Shiel , the Glenfinnan Monument was erected in 1815 to commemorate the Jacobite uprising of 1745 .

The tower has a figure of an un-named highlander in full kilt at the top . The tower marks the spot where Bonnie Prince Charlie landed a small boat and raised his standard .

The area is also famous for having the Glenfinnan viaduct which is best known for its part in the Harry Potter films .
