Hop Valley Trail, Zion National Park, Utah, USA
Zion National Park, Utah

A the head of the Hop Valley Trail in Zion National Park, hikers can stroll around (100+ million) year old sand stone beneath the round hills of relatively young (2 million) volcanic cinder cones.  Some of the sandstone still resembles the gently rolling dunes it was formed from while other areas have eroded into small towers that look like teepees or beehives.

The round top of Firepit Knoll, a cinder cone, is visible to the east with other smaller cindercones visible to the south.
