Standing inside the living room of an old mining residence at the Diamond Tunnel near Eureka, Nevada. There are a number of old buildings leading up to the main entrance of the mining tunnel, which like most mining areas in the state was for silver. Mining around Eureka started around 1874. This residence, as well as another one, had these unusual large-scale murals on the wall of random people, all dressed in formality to the era. Maybe they were relatives of the live-in? But aside from the vulgar graffiti, it was a strange wall paper to have. Like seriously, imagine you fell asleep on the comfy-looking couch, had a nightmare, then immediately awoke to a monster-size cold-hearted grandma staring you down with her hawk eyes (& presumably a pitchfork behind her back). Pretty comforting sight ain't it?
