This hut, rebuilt in 2007 after bushfires serves as a refuge hut for walkers and horse riders in summer and skiers in winter. It is located near the Mt Stirling Alpine resort which caters for cross country skiers at an altitude of 1440m.
It is also a popular area in summer for 4wd enthusiasts.
