The Dashu District abounds with pineapple, which leads to prosperity of the development of pineapple processing industry. During the Japanese colonial period from 1920 to 1930, the Japanese government encouraged establishment of pineapple processing factories which however declined after the regime of Taiwan transfer to Republic of China after World War II. Jioucyutang Taifang Company Pineapple Cannery was originally built in 1925, and had been used for other purposes as time goes by and industrial type changes. The roof of the factory designed in falling-water style, and now has been renovated as central double-sloping style. The façade design for the factory was constructed with bricks in arched style with the concrete keystone in the middle. Currently the arched building is filled with red brick blocks and windows are set, forming a beautiful style of architecture and being preserved in good condition. The local government is planning to classify the factory site as a local industry cultural park and has classified it as a historical building in 2004.
