龍鑾潭潭面廣濶，滿水面積約175公頃，不僅助益農田水利灌溉，每年秋冬，候鳥群集，可稱是南台灣的野鳥樂園。西岸的自然中心，是台灣首座以鳥類生態主題的展示館，提供靜態鳥類之生態展示、以及動態鳥類之活動觀察最佳的環境。
