This remarkable fossil forest is 135 million years old. The primitive trees resemble tree ferns that grew in the age of dinosaurs and forms a part of the World Heritage Jurassic Coast and is a place of Special Scientific Interest. Because the area is part of a military firing range, it is only accessible at certain times of year.
