Jeparit Memorial Buildings
Victoria

Jeparit with a population of about 580 is a service town in the wheatbelt of Victoria, 370km north-west from Melbourne. The town is situated on the Wimmera river which drains into the terminal lakes Lake Hindmarsh and Lake Albacutya before reaching the Wyperfeld flood plains.

German Lutheran immigrants began to settle the area in the 1880s. Prior to European settlement the area was occupied by Gromiluk aborigines.

Victoria is located in the southeast of mainland Australia and includes the most southern point on mainland Australia at Wilsons Promontory National Park.
