Parnell's Bridge , Tollymore Country Park , Northern Ireland

Parnell's Bridge can be found in the Tollymore Country Park , near Newcastle , Co. Down . It crosses the Shimna River on the 5km river trail found in the park .

This is one of the many bridges to be found at Tollymore Country Park . There are 16 in total , ranging from old stone bridges to new wooden ones .

Parnell's Bridge was the last stone bridge to be built . It was built in 1842 in recognition of the visits that Sir John Parnell made in the latter half of the 18th century .
