Pedestal Alley, Burr Trail, Utah, USA
Utah

At the southern end of the Burr Trail, Pedestal Alley derives its name from a collection of sandstone toadstools and hoodoos.  Harder cap rock protects lower layers of sandstone from erosion, producing small toadstools or taller hoodoo towers as the surrounding terrain washes away.  While it doesn't boast as many interesting formations as Goblin Valley to the north, Pedestal Alley does offer a nice hike through desert and over expanses of slickrock.
