Peneda Geres National Park, Lindoso, Castle
Portugal

In the 13th century, the medieval castle of Lindoso was built, integrated in Terra da Nóbrega, under the administration and control of Aboim da Nóbrega Castle. In 1641, shortly after the restoration of independence, this castle was attacked by Spanish troops, and both times the attack was repelled. 1641-43, under pressure from Galician troops, the mayor Baltasar de Sousa Mendes himself had him reinforced at his own expense. .
