Port Isaac harbour wall, Cornwall by Jon Mills
England
Fishing boats rest on the sand of the harbour at Port Isaac, Cornwall on a beautiful sunny day. The picturesque site is shortly to be visited by a large film crew for the sixth series of ITV's Doc Martin starring Martin Clunes. Despite its isolation, the iconic village has been used as the backdrop for several TV shows including BBC's Poldark (1975–77), the BBC drama serial The Nightmare Man (1981), the local village hall has been decorated by the team of DIY SOS, and to date, five series of ITV's Doc Martin have been filmed there although the village has the fictional name of "Portwenn."
