Pygmy Forest at Jughandle State Park
California

The little trees all around the boardwalk are full grown, mostly pine trees.  The poor quality hardpan soil of this coastal terrace stunts the growth of the trees.  Accodring to park literature, some of the trees are over one hundred years old, and might not be more than about four feet tall.

Super cool lichen grows on the ground too, almost like plants.
