Rainbow Mountain Budda
Taiwan

About 3 kilometers from downtown Liouguei on the way to Bulao Spring stands a giant Sakyamuni Buddha statue. Located in Rainbow Mountain Religious Park, the statue is famed for an anecdote as Typhoon Morakot hit Taiwan in 2009. Landslides flowing down the hills were said to have been stopped by the statue and they flowed down from along its sides. The staff of a restaurant in front of the statue escaped unharmed. This solemn Rainbow Mountain Buddha is a must-see attraction for travelers.
