Rhône Glacier
Switzerland
The Rhône glacier is located in the extreme north of the canton of Valais in Switzerland and gives rise to the Rhône River, which flows in the Conches valley and crosses Lake Léman in Geneve and then flows into the Mediterranean Sea near Marseille. It is almost unbelievable that in 1856 the Rhone glacier reached the place where this panorama was photographed near the Glacier du Rhône hotel.
