The Rock of Cashel, aslo knew as Saint Patrick's Rock, is a well preserved ruins of a historic cathedral built over Devil's Bit Mountain in the Cashel city in South Tipperary in Ireland. This site was the traditional seat of the Kings of Munster for hundreds years before the Norma Invasion. In 1101 the King of Munster Muirchertach Ua Briain doneted his castle to the church. The oldest building, the round tower, was raised from 1100 and the cathedral was built between 1235 and 1270. Today Rock of Cashel is one of the most important heritage touristic point of Ireland.
