Romania Mare Statue and Grigore T. Popa University of Medicine and Pharmacy
The Romania Mare statue was designed by Princess Olga Sturdza and represents 'Mother' greeting her three daughters; Romania, Bessarabia, Bukovina, and Transylvania. This statue was originally located in 1924 at the spot where now rests the statue of Mihai Eminescu on Copou Hill. The statue was relocated to its present location after the change of regime in 1989. The Grigore T. Popa University of Medicine and Pharmacy trains physicians, dentists, nurses, and more and is home to advanced scientific research and biomedical engineering. On the left of the main building if you zoom is the 'Hope Door' which looks like ruins. On the right is the bust of Grigore T. Popa.Building on the right is the Institute of Anatomy.
