Ruderi di Gibellina - The Ruins of Gibellina - Cretto di Burri
Palerme - Sicily

The original City of Gibellina was destroyed by the Belice earthquake in 1968. The Artist Alberto Burri covered the entire town with concrete, just keeping the Streets. It is Europe's largest landscape artwork.

A black mobile phone lies on the concrete block. It plays "Gibellina" from the CD "Morgenland" of  composer and artist Martin Kaelberer.
