Scenery of the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park - front of "Cenotaph for the Atomic-bomb Victims" - August 6, 2019 - Anniversary of the 74th anniversary of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima
Japan

This image was taken on August 6, 2019, after the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Ceremony. It is 74 years since the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima. And time passed moment by moment.I wrote this sentence a year after I took this picture. 75 years have passed since the atomic bomb was dropped.

August 6, 1945, this day should be remembered in every sense. There is also "memory of anger" among them.

"Angry for War"-War dehumanizes soldiers and many people.

"Rage against the atomic bomb"-Instantly killed many people. It also afflicted many people into future life with sequelae and psychological anxiety.

However, the Japanese are not angry with the United States that dropped the atomic bomb. The atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki are regarded as "warnings for the future."

The next time nuclear weapons are used, mankind will not remember this day. Because humanity itself is destroyed.

We are not angry with the US that dropped the atomic bomb. However, I am angry at ”each governments of Countries with nuclear weapons including the  governments of US, Russia, and China”, who continue to hold nuclear weapons.

Also,We are angry at the Japanese government, which does not have a clear attitude toward nuclear weapons.

Also note that the atomic bombings on Hiroshima and Nagasaki were not intended to end the war. Please pay attention to the fact that the atomic bombings on Hiroshima and Nagasaki were demonstrations to show off the power of nuclear weapons.

A great deal of money was spent on the development of the atomic bomb. If they did not use the atomic bomb, it was expected that the American government would be criticized by the public. "The money used to develop the atomic bomb is a waste of money." The atomic bomb was also used by the US government to convince its people. I feel a lot of anger at these facts.

In every sense, the dropping of the atomic bomb was a criminal act. It cannot be justified in any way.

I don't hold grudge against America that dropped the atomic bomb. But the atonement should be done. It is nothing but the reduction and destruction of nuclear weapons. And that means that all states with nuclear weapons have to take joint responsibility.

The nuclear arms race will definitely fail. It means the destruction of humanity. There can never be "only our country survive".

Let me add one more thing.

If the war had continued and a third atomic bomb was dropped, Kyoto City would have been the most likely candidate for the third one. That is very frightening.

We hope Hiroshima and Nagasaki will be the last land to be used for nuclear weapons.

More About Japan

The eight islands of Japan sprang into existence through Divine Intervention. The first two gods who came into existence were Izanagi no Mikoto and Izanami no Mikoto, the Exalted Male and Exalted Female. It was their job to make the land for people to live on.They went to the bridge between heaven and earth and, using a jewel-encrusted halberd, Izanagi and Izanami churned up the sea into a frothy foam. As salty drips of water fell from the tip of the halberd the first island was formed. Its name was Onogoro. So far, so good. But when Izanagi and Izanami first met on their island, Izanami spoke to Isanagi without being spoken to first. Since she was the female, and this was improper, their first union created badly-formed offspring who were sent off into the sea in boats. The next time they met, Izanagi was sure to speak first, ensuring the proper rules were followed, and this time they produced eight children, which became the islands of Japan.I'm sure you did not fail to miss the significance of this myth for the establishment of Japanese formal society. At present, Japan is the financial capital of Asia. It has the second largest economy in the world and the largest metropolitan area (Tokyo.)Technically there are three thousand islands making up the Japanese archipelago. Izanagi and Izanami must have been busy little devils with their jewelled halberd...Japan's culture is highly technical and organized. Everything sparkles and swooshes on silent, miniaturized mechanisms. They're a world leader in robotics, and the Japanese have the longest life-expectancy on earth.Text by Steve Smith.
