Plain of Paramythia
Greece

This panorama is taken near an old watchtower (probably Venecian). It shows the plain of Paramythia. The settlement below is Agios Donatos. Τhe mountain peak above is Kourilas (or Gorilas). Egnatia odos is also visible. If one tries hard he can make out the chapel of Prophet Elias on the right of the pole, which features in another of my Panoramas. The snaking road descending, leads to Paramythia and is known as skala (staircase) of Paramythia, named after an much older pass (not visible) right below the location of the camera, direction north - northwest.
