South Foreland Lighthouse, Kent
England

A striking landmark perched atop the famous White Cliffs of Dover, the South Foreland lighthouse is one of two lights built during the 1840s to warn sailors of the notorious Goodwin Sands.

It has several claims to fame. It was the first lighthouse to use an electric light and was also the recipient of the first ever ship-to-shore message and the first international radio transmission.
