St Swithun´s Church, East Grinstead, Surrey, England
England

This church, built in the late 10th century, is named after St. Swithun (Bishop of Winchester, 852 – 862). Despite St Swithin´s request to be buried outside Winchester Cathedral, his remains were buried inside the cathedral. The story goes that St Swithun, beyond the grave, was so upset, that it rained for 40 days. Hence the myth that if it rains on St Swithun´s day (15th July) it will rain for 40 days!
