Redwood National Park - Stout Grove [2]
California

At the base of a massive redwood tree (was about 15 feet in diameter) in Redwood National Park/Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park near Crescent City, California.  Access to this grove is via Howland Hill Road in which this 44 acre redwood site sits adjacent to the nearby Smith River.  While these trees are massive in size, redwoods are more known for their height, in which the largest one in the region tops out at a height of 379 feet, which for comparison is higher than Britton Hill, Florida's highest point at 312 feet.
