Sui-Rui, Lårdalstigen
Norway

Localy this place is called Sui-Rui as apposed to Ni-Rui, the place where the Rui girls lived, whitch is a little lower then Eidsborg from here. As you can see, this place faces south and catches sun. This is a very stony place but the soil between the rocks is both deep and fertile. People have lived here from long ago, the last being Jon and Tårånd Rui. Jon was born in Gransherad in 1841, and died here in 1923. Tårånd, who lived from 1855 to 1938, came from Odden by the powerstation at Dalen. They have many decendants including their son Eivind and his wive Gro who were the last to live here. Rui belonged to Mykjejord farm but became a seperate property in 1939. In 1952 it was sold to Raundal farm. By the side of the stream to the south of Rui you can see the remains of the water mill which stood here earlier.
