Ugochanskuj castle "Kanko"
Ukraine

Black Mountain Castle built on the site of populated tracts, dated XIV-XII centuries. B.C. (crops is). Castle complex consists of a stone castle, the castle chapel and church frantsiskantsiv and surrounded by defensive walls. The castle itself was built in XIII-XIV centuries. a quadrilateral shape (44.5 x 30 m.) with corner towers. The chapel was built in the XIV century. based on the former guard tower.

Ugochanskuj castle called "Kanko." In written sources the name was first mentioned in 1573 and one version means with Hung. "boulder", and the name comes from another religious clothing "Kanko" - coat with wool. And in the long tradition in times of strife, when he died last representative of the Arpad robber had locked it and Kanku on behalf castle got its name.

1556. Ferenc Perényi changed Emperor Ferdinand I (1503 - 1564) and moved to the side of his opponent - Transylvanian Prince János Zapolyai II (1540 - 1571). In response, Ferdinand sends a detachment of troops led by commander Ivan Telekeshi possession Pereni. Imperial troops capture the castle by storm, thoroughly destroying its structure. According to others the castle was destroyed after capture - in 1558.

One folk legend tells a different version of the expulsion of the monks from the castle. In Baron Perényi was beautiful daughter that monastic monks imprisoned in a dungeon where she was crazy, and later died after release. Heartbroken father ordered the destruction of the monastery church with lock and monks.
