Glen Canyon Dam is a huge concrete arch dam on the Colorado River, just north of Page, Arizona. Construction of Glen Canyon Dam started in 1956 and was not finished until 1966. The dam provides hydroelectric power to the Southwestern United States and created Lake Powell, the second largest reservoir in the United States.
