windmills3. campo de criptana. ciudad real. spain

One of the main sights on this trip is here in the region of Ciudad Real, Campo de Criptana. This village presents the most famous image of La Mancha, thanks to the centuries-old windmills located on the hill that presides over it, against which Don Quixote battled in one of the novel's most famous passages. Three of the ten windmills still preserve their original 16th century mechanism: Burleta, Infanto and Sardinero. All of the windmills have an individual name and use. Culebro, for example, is the Sara Montiel Museum, devoted to the town's most famous daughter; Pilón is the Wine Museum; and Poyatos houses the tourism office
