Stein am Rhein is a municipality in the canton of Schaffhausen in Switzerland. The city is known for its historic quarter well preserved. Many medieval buildings characterize the picture - the painted facades of houses, half-timbered houses, bay windows and small streets are the tourist potential of this city. In 1972, the municipality received the first Wakker Prize for exemplary care.
