The Plaats in The Hague is a small square where during festivals music is performed, whilst during the summer it is covered in terraces and very popular with the locals as a place to stop for drinks or lunch whilst shopping in the heart of town here. Opposite the square is the HofVijver, a stretch of water bordering on the houses of Parliament. On the corner of the square is the medieval prison museum, the Gevangen Poort.
