We visited Nosy Hara on our way down the coast of Madagascar while sailing. Nosy Hara is a National Park stop and they had two rangers living on the island when we visited. The island is surrounded by steep cliffs about 100 meters tall. They are composed of a variety of rocks, but the top appear to be eroded limestone rocks that have been shaped by rain and wind to razor-sharp edges. A very challenging rock, which was made a bit easier by the rangers who have over time worked out some paths up the cliffs. One false step and you at a minimum will have some scraped ankles or shins. If you slipped and fell on some of the rocks it could easily be fatal! When we got to the top of the cliffs, we felt like it was an alien landscape. Scary looking in some ways, but also awesome to behold. This 360 shows the view at the top of the cliffs we achieved. We weren't going to attempt to go any further given the challenge, and danger, of the climb.
