This is a lagoon of fresh water surrounded by abundant vegetation formed, mainly, by pines, castanets, bulrushes and rushes. In it live a great variety of birds that migrate to Spain. It is located next to the urbanization El Portil, which gives it its name. It is about 15 minutes from Huelva by car. A path runs along the perimeter of the lagoon that begins in a small viewpoint.
