Freyung - Kirche Außenansicht
Germany

When Freyung has become an independent parish, can not be accurately determined. In the porch of the parish church an ancient grave monument can be seen, which says that Berthold hacker builder and pastor of this church, died in 1380th.

The oldest parish church Freyunger was a tall, brick-vaulted late Gothic building. The tower stood on the west side and wore a peaked roof, which was only in 1739 replaced by a baroque onion.

The church stood until 1872 amid the narrow cemetery, which was surrounded by a wall and several buildings, f.e. schoolhouse, Mesnerhaus and municipal chamber. Since 1652 the Sebastiani- chapel was next to the parish church.

With the progressive colonization of the huge Wolf Forst forest of Freyunger parish, which eventually expanded in the 18th century up to the frontier of Bohemia grew. Branch churches there since the 14th century with St. Anna in Kreuzberg and since the 15th century with St. Nikolaus in Grainet. Grainet 1750 was elevated to parish and Kreuzberg in 1751 for "exposed Kooperatur".

At the turn of the 19th century belonged to the large parish Freyung except the market Freyung and Wolfenstein Castle villages Ahornöd, Herzogsreut, Kaining, Linden, Marchhäuser, Oberdorf, Location, Philippsreut, Pittersberg, Promau, front and Hinterschmiding, Schönbrunn, Solla , Sonndorf, Speltenbach, Vorderfirmiansreut and angle Brunn, and the hamlet Heldengut and simplicity mountain.

The priest lived in the parsonage "in Froschau", which was built in 1732 under the then minister Dr. Andreas Franz X. Engstler.

But the parsonage was not only the home of the pastor, but also the center of a large farmstead, with around 70 Tagwerk reason farmed by the pastor himself with male and female slaves.

For parish since the late Middle Ages was a parish school in which a schoolmaster reading, writing, arithmetic, and some from the 17th century, the "Christian doctrine" mediated. The schoolmasters were under the pastors and were also organist, sexton, the church clerk invoice and market Schreiber, so supplement their meager incomes. There is no obligation to attend school did not exist at that time. Only in 1806, with membership of Bavaria, the "Normal School" and compulsory education was introduced.

More About Germany

Germany? Before the beginning there was Ginnungagap, an empty space of nothingness, filled with pure creative power. (Sort of like the inside of my head.)And it ends with Ragnarok, the twilight of the Gods. In between is much fighting, betrayal and romance. Just as a good Godly story should be.Heroes have their own graveyard called Valhalla. Unfortunately we cannot show you a panorama of it at this time, nor of the lovely Valkyries who are its escort service.Hail Odin, wandering God wielding wisdom and wand! Hail Freya, hail Tyr, hail Thor!Odin made the many lakes and the fish in them. In his traverses across the lands he caused there to be the Mulheim Bridge in Cologne, as did he make the Mercury fountain, Mercury being of his nature. But it is to the mighty Thor that the Hammering Man gives service.Between the time of the Nordic old ones and that of modern Frankfort there may have been a T.Rex or two on the scene. At least some mastodons for sure came through for lunch, then fell into tar pits to become fossils for us to find. And there we must leave you, O my most pure and holy children.Text by Steve Smith.
