The Kaohsiung River ECO-Cultural Park is the floodplain below the Gaoping River Cable-stayed Bridge. The first stage construction is completed in 2006 with a total area of 30 hectares. The major facilities of the park include special plaza under the Cable-stayed Bridge, Tian Tai Mirror Plaza, trail, and parking lot. The Tian Tai Mirror Plaza is uniquely designed with stones inscribed scriptures of the Buddhist Heart Sutra. The river is channeled into and runs through the plaza, forming a special and unique aqua facility. The park is lush with green grass and plantings everywhere. From here the Buddha Memorial and Cable-stayed Bridge are within the view. It carries multiple functions of ecological conservation, recreation, as well as to retain the original look of the landscape of floodplain.
