The cross is a monument built in the memory of lost soldiers during the first world war. Rising at nearly 28 meters (92 feet) high at an elevation of 2291 meters (7527 ft), the cross was finished in 1928 and modernized a few decades later being suited with powerful electrical bulbs on the edges that light its shape, making it visible from a few kilometers during clear summer nights.
