View from the abandoned military lookout to the gulf of Trieste in Italy. The lookout stands in Slovenia, in the immediate vicinity of the Italian border. The lookout was used by the Yugoslavian army.
The numerous big oil tanks, which are used for temporay storage of oil (...) brougt by the tanker ships to the port of Trieste, are most noticable. In the background is Trieste. On the right (just above the highway) is the Trieste main hospital. The big industrial area on the right of oil tanks is the factory Grandi Motori, where the engines of the ships, including cruise ships, are constructed. The peninsula on the left of Trieste is Debeli rtič, half on the Italian side, half on the Slovenian side of the border. Even further on the left is the town Koper.
