The Anscavallo is a sculpture, which is located on the castle square in Ansbach. It was built by sculptor Jürgen Goertz. The sculptor presented the sculpture as a result of an ideas contest for the design of the square near the main entrance of the residence on July 1993. The name consists of Ans- as the word component of Ansbach and -cavallo, which means horse in Italian and also hints at the cavalry.
