Originally, the Herrieder Gate in Ansbach was part of the medieval city wall. In 1750 the building was redesigned in a representative city gate. Only the lower part dates back to the Middle Ages. In the tower is a bell play mounted. The famous German military march Hohenfriedberger, which recalls the victory of the Prussians over Saxony and Austria during the Second Silesian War, takes place every day at 11:00 am and at 5:00 pm.
