Reconstruction has begun. This panorama is a test of high dyanamic range technique. Taken with Sigma 8mm fisheye at f/5.6 on Canon 7D at ISO 100. 5 exposures spaced 2 EV, nominal input range 18 stops; at least 16 stops for real. Raw files converted with Photoshop CS5, TCA and white balance correction, 'camera faithful' profile. Stitched with PTGui Pro 9.1 to 5 'blend planes' which were then merged to hdr and tonemapped with Photomatix 4.1 'details enhancer' using all default settings except: gamma 1.20, lighting effect 'natural'. Final contrast enhancement and conversion to 8-bit jpeg in Photoshop. Alternatives that did not work as well: hdr merging with Photoshop (bad color) or PTGui (less dynamic range, flat color); fusing blend planes in PTGui or with enblend ( less dynamic range ).
