Burned coastal bushland at Separation Creek
Victoria

Panorama of the Great Ocean Road and burned bushland at Separation Creek, Victoria, Australia. On 19 December 2015 lightning strikes started 2 bushfires in the Otway Ranges near Wye River which burned 2,500 hectares in difficult terrain until it could be contained on 21 January 2016. Fanned by strong northerly winds the fire destroyed 98 houses in Wye River and 18 houses in Separation Creek on Christmas Day.
