Комплекс Воскресенского собора начала XIX века известен своей 106-метровой колокольней — первой в Европе среди звонниц, стоящих отдельно от храмов. В 1891 году на третий ярус колокольни был поднят седьмой по величине колокол в России (весом 1270 пудов). Он был отлит в Москве на средства крупнейшего фабриканта М. А. Павлова. С 1991 года Воскресенский собор является подворьем Свято-Николо-Шартомского мужского монастыря — шуйской православной обители, известной с 1425 года.
